We help people learn new skills, seize new opportunities, and broaden how they see the world — through language. Lingu English is the British chapter of a Norwegian school that has been doing this since 2008.

Lingu was founded in Stavanger, Norway in 2008 by language teachers who believed online learning could be just as warm, social and effective as a classroom — and a great deal more flexible. We started by teaching Norwegian to people who had moved to the country for work, family or a new chapter in life. That mission grew.
Today the Lingu group is a fleet of more than 80 people across 22 nationalities. We run proven programs in Norwegian for consumers, businesses and governments, and we invest heavily in educational technology so that language learning is more scalable, more flexible and more enjoyable. Lingu English is the next port of call — bringing that same approach to the world’s most-spoken second language.
A culture is not what you say in a deck — it is what you do on a Tuesday morning. Four lighthouses guide ours, and they apply equally to a teacher in Oslo, a developer in Stavanger and a course designer in London. Tap a beacon to read more.
In December 2025, Lingu acquired Perfectly Spoken — bringing British teachers under the Lingu flag.
Founded by language teachers who believed online learning could feel as warm and social as a classroom — only more flexible. First students: people learning Norwegian after moving for work, family or a new chapter.
Built our own engagement platform for instructor-led learning. Live games, teamwork and personalisation — designed around teachers, not against them.
Trusted by Norwegian businesses, municipalities and integration programs to deliver language training at national scale.
A tight feedback loop began informing every lesson — what each learner already knows, what to practise next, and where a teacher should step in.
In December, Lingu acquired Perfectly Spoken — a beloved British English school. Perfectly Spoken Ltd was renamed Lingu Ltd; same teachers, same registration, one fleet.
Everyone can. Our students are resourceful, competent adults — our job is to give them the structure, the practice and the encouragement to prove it to themselves.
Flexible online English courses with British teachers, live classes, and a structured path from A1 to C2.
